Writing/Photography careers?

December 22nd, 2011 by admin

Okay, so I thought I wanted to be a photojournalist…but turns out that there’s actually not much writing to it (well thats what I’ve heard atleast) Is that correct?
If yes, then what career would let me do writing more + photography?

Writting is not properly a university degree; you can choose phylology or literature. Writting skill develops while writting, same as photography one; you also can study photography. I think both marry well; some photojournalists write stories with their photographs; Walker Evans liked writting, but finally was a reknowned photographer, Lewis Carrol photographed and wrote Alice in Wanderland

Do you think photography is a good career to choose in life?

December 17th, 2011 by admin

After doing several courses anyone interested in the field would be really great on it. But by only doing photography, can any one make a good life? If so where in the world will be the best place to go for photography careers??

You can make a decent living with photography. Like starting any business there will be a few tough years while you build up a reputation and clients. After that you should be ok.

Are photography careers worth it?

November 11th, 2011 by admin

I’m going to school now for photography and I was wondering if there is any point in going after a photography career. I want to know if it would be a good money job and also keep money coming in, or if I should just give it up and go after another type of career.

If your good and can afford your own studio and equipment with advertising you can make a
living.Or work for a newes paper as a reporter.photographer. and i am, sure you will shoot a lot
of ladies in fashion and underwear if you haven’t all ready.don’t forget a model release.if it worries
you work at something full time and shoot weddings and what ever as a free lance.

how to get into a photography career without a degree?

September 14th, 2011 by admin

i am really into photography and would love to persue it as a career but i really don’t want to go to university. (nothing to do with the fees)
does anyone know of any photographers that have made it without a degree?
if you need a degree for this career, does anyone know of any college courses or online courses i could take instead?
P.S. I live in the UK!

Almost ALL of the top photographers got there without a degree. Only a small percentage of professional photographers have degrees in photography.

Are there any short careers relating to photography?

June 23rd, 2011 by admin

The thing is that I’m a young mother and I’m looking for a short career and I’m really interested in photography.

there are a lot of short careered photographers…

usually ones that think they can do wedding photography with basic equipment…

they last about 2 months… and end up very stressed… and sometimes get sued by their clients…

Art and Photography careers–any advice on what area i could work in?

May 29th, 2011 by admin

just left univeristy where i got a 2.1 fine art degree. i am an exceptional artist and poet, and am now looking for a new path to follow.

art therapy?

photojournalism?

creative florist?!!

i dont want to be a teacher!

any advice or ideas on working in the art industry?

congrats on 2.1 that’s superb. I think you should try out different fields such as art therapy or photojournalism and just see how you find them. You could be surprised by what you find you love most.

Best place in Canada to get photography career?

March 16th, 2011 by admin

I’ve read about photographers who walk into a company’s head quarters (like National Geographic) and after showing some samples of their work asked for a job. I am currently living in Montreal but I’m in a position to move to any part of Canada. I’m wondering where in Canada would offer the best chances at getting into a photography career.

It depends on the level of your photography and the job. Without knowing what you are qualified for there is no answer to your question.

What careers can a Photography Degree lead to?

February 18th, 2011 by admin

I’m doing a degree in photography this september at university, but I was just wondering; would this limit me to only photography in the future? I would quite like to get into other media like television and film, do you think a photography degree would be too limiting or just right? I also would like to open my own studio and photography business after…!

Too many graduates, little demand, and no jobs.
Why are your parents going to pay $100,000 for you to take this???

How can you connect careers in philosophy and careers in photography, together?

February 14th, 2011 by admin

I have to choose my courses for grade eleven carefully, and I want to have a career that has to do with philosophy, and photography at the same time, or at least I want to take those two courses.

How can they relate?

What other courses can you suggest

Make sure that what you take will get you a job when you graduate.
Recently in one show there was a man that had a doctorate in philosophy and could not find work.
Sounds like he didn’t want to be a teacher.

Also photography is one of the lowest paying careers out there with little demand.
Make sure you don’t spend 100K in college and then find out you can’t pay the student loans back.

Could you come up with better degrees.
I know what you have chosen is fun. But will it ever pay the bills???
