How to start a photography career?
August 1st, 2010 by admin
I might get a little ahead of myself, but I really want to start my first job doing photography ( im only 16 though lol). I consider myself alright as a young adult and does it pay good?
If sixteen is a ‘young adult’ I should have made my bucket list years ago.

I say keep it a passion and lean a ‘real skill" – this business is highly competitive. I would suggest freelancing at first if anything.

And search for the same question here – it is asked at least once a day…
Best of luck!

i’d say just practice honing the skill, and don’t think about money until you’ve really mastered it. if you’re "alright", why rush into earning cash already? there’s so so so much to learn. organize photo shoots, read articles, practice photoshop, go out for photo editor of the high school paper, try star trail photography, play around with strobes…charging money for photographic work is a big responsibility and there’s no reason to rush it. just have fun with it as a hobby until you’ve really mastered it and then, sure, market yourself. but for now, learn.
